Distance: Weekly Travel Theme – Edinburgh

Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities, and lends itself perfectly to Ailsa’s Travel Theme of the week: Distance. From Edinburgh Castle, you can see the whole of the city, and Carlton Hill looks a fair way off in the distance. However, a walk down the Royal Mile, past Parliament House and up the hill, one finds oneself looking back at Edinburgh Castle, which now appears away in the distance.

Photos taken in December 2011. The photos from Edinburgh Castle were taken around 10am, and the ones from Carlton Hill around 3:30pm (it was getting dark very quickly!).

  1. Lovely shots bringing back happy memories of 6 years living there – and both my kids were born there too – I have a real affinity with the place – still have many good friends there too. Thanks!
